PHILADELPHIA, PA - George Washington women's basketball senior center Jessica Adair highlighted the list of three Colonials to earn All-Atlantic 10 honors with her third consecutive First Team All-Conference selection in a year-end poll conducted by the Conference coaches and released by the league office on Wednesday.
Along with Adair, senior forward/guard Antelia Parrish was voted Third Team All-Conference and freshman forward/guard Tara Booker was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Adair joins former Colonials' standouts Kimberly Beck, Darlene Saar and Cathy Joens as the only players in program history to receive first-team nods three times during their career and also is the 10th player in league history to be named First Team All-Conference at least three times.
A preseason Wooden Award candidate, Adair paces GW and is ranked in the Top 10 in the A-10 in scoring (13.2 ppg), rebounding (7.4 rpg) and blocked shots (1.62 bpg) and currently ranks 14th in the nation in field goal percentage (.568). Four of her five double-doubles have come in Atlantic 10 play, where she is averaging 13.6 points and 8.4 rebounds.
Parrish is second on GW in scoring (11.3 ppg), rebounding (5.7) and assists (2.9 apg) while leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference with 50 three-point field goals. Her 50 three-pointers are the 17th-most in a single-season in school history and 97 career triples already rank 11th all-time at GW despite playing just 57 games since transferring to the program prior to the 2007-08 season.
Booker is the 19th player in program history to earn A-10 All-Rookie Team accolades and first since Jazmine Adair in 2006. Booker is second on the team with 42 three-pointers, the most for a GW freshman since 2005, and is averaging 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 27 games. Booker started 12 of 14 conferences games, averaging 8.4 points and 6.1 boards to help the Colonials to a tie for fourth in the league standings.
GW (17-12, 9-5 A-10) enters this weekend's A-10 Championship as the No. 5 seed and will face 12th-seeded Rhode Island in the first round at Charlotte's Halton Arena Friday at 2:30 pm. The winner will advance to a quarterfinal match-up against No. 4 seed Richmond Saturday at 2:30 pm.
