
Softball Drops Game One to Fordham

BRONX, NY - George Washington softball dropped game one of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader against Fordham Sunday, 6-1.
Junior Katie Terrazas batted in the Colonials (8-16, 1-2 A-10) lone run in the third inning as Krissy Mackiewicz scored from third when Terrazas got on base via a fielding error by Fordham's second baseman Jessica Weckenman.
The Colonials got on the board first but was unable to hold Fordham (21-12, 3-2) for long. The Rams scored two runs in the fourth to go ahead and four in the fifth to keep the lead out of reach for GW.
Junior Amanda Gabriel (4-8) took the loss for GW in six innings of work. Gabriel allowed six runs (five earned), two walks and struck out six.
Game two of the match-up will take place approximately 20 minutes after game one is finished.
