Softball Edged by Fordham in Game Two, 4-2

BRONX, NY-- With one runner on, junior Katie Terrazas hit her second home run over the left center fence to put the George Washington softball team up 2-0 in the first. Fordham spread out their four runs that it took to get the 4-2 win over GW in game two of the Atlantic 10 Conference match-up.
The Colonials (8-17, 1-3 A-10) kept getting runners on, but couldn't get them past second base.
Freshman Heidi Penna (0-1) got the call for the start but only lasted one and a third innings. Penna allowed two hits, one unearned run, and struck out one. Junior Amanda Gabriel (4-9) came into the game, throwing four and two-thirds innings in relief. Gabriel allowed six hits three unearned runs, walked one and struck out four.
GW comes home to start an eight-game home stand, starting with two non-conference doubleheader match-ups against Mount St. Mary's, Mar. 31 at 3:00 p.m., and George Mason, Apr. 1 at 2:00 p.m.
The Colonials host Atlantic 10 opponents Temple, Mar. 3 at 3:00 p.m. and Mar. 4 at 12:00 p.m., and Saint Joseph's, Mar. 5 doubleheader at 12:00 p.m.
