
Softball Falls to East Tennessee State at Under Armour Showcase

TAMPA, FL --The Colonials softball team (6-10) fell to East Tennessee State, 2-0, in the second game of the day at the USF Under Armour Showcase, Friday afternoon.
GW was held off the base paths until the fifth inning when senior Tori Sensi began the inning with a single. Freshman Ali Waterman pinch ran for Sensi and was sacrifice bunted to second by freshman Lauren Wilson. Waterman was then stranded at second as junior Elisa Van Kirk flied out and freshman Jordyn O'Donnell fouled out.
ETSU scored their two runs by single runs in the bottom of the first and fifth innings.
Junior Amanda Gabriel (3-4) took the six-inning loss. Gabriel allowed seven hits, two runs (both earned) and struck out three.
The Colonials continue at the USF Under Armour Showcase Saturday, facing Florida International at 1:00 p.m. and host South Florida at 6:00 p.m.
