GW won its 17th straight A-10 home game with an 85-82 victory over Duquesne Saturday. Senior Jessica Adair posted her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Colonials placed five in double-digits for the second straight game. GW shot a season-best 53.2 percent from the floor en route to the season-high 85 points, despite shooting just 28-of-46 from the free throw line.
Jessica Adair and Antelia Parrish combined for 32 points and 13 rebounds to help #16/13 GW hold off Dayton, 81-73, in the teams' most recent meeting in Washington, DC, last Jan. 29. The Flyers pulled within three, 73-70, with 2:30 remaining, but the Colonials closed with an 8-1 run - including four points from Parrish - for the eight-point win.
The Colonials are 10-0 this season when leading at halftime, 0-7 when trailing and have split their two games when tied at the break.
Dayton (13-7, 2-2 A-10) looks to rebound from a 60-57 loss at Charlotte Saturday, a game in which the Flyers trimmed an 18-point second-half deficit to one with 47 seconds remaining. UD has split its four league games, winning by five at Saint Louis and two at home against Duquesne, while losing by two at home to Xavier before Saturday's three-point loss at Charlotte.
Of the 10 players who have seen action for the Flyers this season, six are freshmen, led by six-time A-10 Rookie of the Week Justine Raterman. Raterman, sophomore Kristin Daugherty and junior Kendel Ross combine for 38.7 ppg, or 58 percent of the Dayton's 65.5 ppg scoring average. The Flyers posted the third-best turnaround in the nation last year (13-game improvement), finishing 25-9 overall - 9-5 in A-10 play - with an A-10 Championship semifinal apperance and WNIT bid.
