Second Straight Strong Effort Leads Gymnastics to Road Sweep

The George Washington Colonials Women's Gymnastics team continued their strong run to start the season with a team score of 191.625 and an invite victory on the campus of Rutgers University.
Sophomore Leslie Delima and freshman Amanda Murphy once again led the way with scores of 38.500 and 37.975 in the all-around respectively. This is the second straight week in which both have competed in all four events after doing so in the GW/Lindsey Ferris Invite last weekend.
Junior Christa Devine led the Colonials on the evening with a 9.800 on bars and senior Kristen Simpson led GW with a 9.775 mark on floor. Simpson also chipped in a 9.675 on vault, which was second on the Colonials only behind Delima.
Senior Bree Plotsker led the Colonials on beam with a score of 9.675. GW as a group finished with its highest team score in bars, in which it scored a 48.100.
The Colonials now will prepare for next weekend when they travel to Morgantown, WV and take on West Virginia, Maryland and Rutgers. The meet is schedule to take place next Saturday, January 31 and will begin at 7:00 pm ET. It will be the third straight meet in which the Colonials will take on the Scarlet Knights from Rutgers.
