TOWSON, MD - The George Washington University gymnastics team avenged its loss to Towson Tuesday night, by scoring a season-high 194.300 Friday night at the Tigers' Senior night. GW matched its season-high on bars (48.675), while setting new marks on both the balance beam (48.675) and floor exercise (48.900).
The 194.300 total is the Colonials best score since March 1, 2006, when GW tallied 194.400 points. Ironically, that meet was also against Towson. That same meet, the Colonials also recorded a 48.975 on floor, and tonights floor total was the Colonials best since then.

The rookie also won the balance beam with a career-high 9.850, while taking third on floor with a 9.825, also her best mark of the season on the event. The native of Virginia Beach, VA also tied her season-high on bars (9.725) and recorded a 9.550 on vault.
Junior Kristen Simpson also won the vault title with a 9.850.
GW began the night in dominating fashion with their season-best on bars, which gave the Colonials a .750 point lead. All five scorers scored at least a 9.700 on the apparatus. Sophomore Megan Quinn followed with a 9.700, while fellow sophomore Christa Devine closed out the lineup with a 9.725.
Vault was the next event for the Colonials, and after two rotations GW still had the upper hand with a .375 point lead. Sophomore Lindsay Tom led off with a 9.475. Sophomore Danielle Parretti made her debut on vault with a respectable 9.450. Marckesano was third in the lineup and delivered a 9.725 performance. After Delima's performance in the five-spot, Simpson came through with her event winning performance.
The Colonials extended their lead to .925 going into the final rotation with their 48.900 on floor. Coleman led off with a 9.750, while Marckesano matched her careerhigh with a 9.800 in the two spot. After another career-mark by Delima, Quinn posted a 9.700, and was followed by Parrack's 9.825, matching her career-high she set four nights ago. The season-high on floor was the best mark recorded by a Colonials team since March 1, 2006.
All five scorers for GW recorded at least a 9.650 on beam, the final rotation of the night. Tom led off the event matching her career-high with a 9.750. After Delima's career-mark, Simpson and Quinn recorded back-t-back 9.650s. Parretti closed out the event with a career-high of her own, a 9.775.
