
Women's Tennis Falls at Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, FL - George Washington women's tennis was defeated by Florida Atlantic Towson, 5-2, Monday afternoon in Boca Raton, FL. The Colonials fell to 5-6 overall while the Owls improved to 1-11 on the year.
In Monday's action, FAU claimed the doubles point by sweeping all three doubles matches, including a dramatic victory in the No. 3 position, as Hannah Findlay and Virginia Augustin narrowly defeated Tracy Stecko and Michele Style, 8-7 (2-0).
In singles play, No. 1 player freshman Nadia Demidenko earned a win, 6-1, 7-6 (2-0) and improved her overall record to 13-3. GW earned their second point of the match form the No. 4 slot, as sophomore Verena Knoedler downed Florida Atlantic's Danielle Simore, 6-4, 6-3.
George Washington continues their Florida trip today when they face Lynn, also in Boca Raton, FL.
