Gymnastics Falls to Maryland, 194.5-191.5

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The George Washington gymnastics team fell to East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) rival Maryland despite scoring a season-high 191.5 points. Maryland swept each individual event on the night.
The Colonials were led by McKenzie Parrack who scored 28.95 total points in three events including a second place finish with a 9.75 on the vault. McKenzie also scored a 9.650 on the bars and a 9.550 on the floor exercise.
Christa Devine also had a strong showing with a third place finish on the balance beam with a 9.7. Devine also scored a 9.7 on the bars along with Megan Quinn.
On the floor exercise Jess Guilbert led the way for GW with a 9.775, good for second place on the event. Guilbert also had a strong showing on the vault with a 9.725 which was tied for second on the Colonials with Carolyn Marckesano.
The team will return to competition on Sunday, February 11th as they travel to North Carolina to compete in the Tar Heel Invitational at 2:00 pm. Live video of the event can be seen viewed on accselect.com with a free trial, event-only or monthly subscription.
