Men's Swimming Falls To Old Dominion Saturday

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington University men's swimming & diving team fell short against Old Dominion, 185-95 on Saturday afternoon at Charles E. Smith Athletic Center. Old Dominion came into the meet ranked 7th in the CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Poll. Junior David Zenk took one event and recorded two runner-up finishes as well. Fellow junior Tom Pullen also recorded a pair of second place performances.
Zenk won the 100-yard backstroke in 51.48 and placed second in both the 50-yard freestyle (21.68) and 200-yard backstroke (1:57.04). Senior Drew Boudreau finished third in the 200 backstroke in 2:03.37.
Pullen took second in both the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.38) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.58). Freshman Andrew Maguire finished just behind Pullen in the 200, placing third in 2:19.95. The freshman also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:01.54.
Freshman Konrad Kopczynski and David Meyer took second and third, respectively in the 200-yard freestyle in times of 1:47.66 and 1:51.52 in that order.
The Colonials will be off for over a month before their next meet at the Rhode Island Invitational on January 11 and 12, 2008.
