DAYTON, OH - The No. 11/12 George Washington women's basketball team continues its road swing with an Atlantic 10 Conference clash at Dayton on Friday at 7:00 pm.
GW (16-2, 5-0 A-10) enters its second of four consecutive road contests on a nine-game winning streak, the ninth longest in the nation as of Thursday. The Colonials have yet to lose to the Flyers in 20 all-time meetings, including a 10-0 mark at University of Dayton Arena.
Sophomore Jessica Adair split her second A-10 Player of the Week award of the season on Monday. Adair averaged a double-double in GW's wins over Rhode Island and Xavier last week, highlighted by a career-high 15 rebounds and 11 points against the Musketeers on ESPN2. Senior Kenan Cole led four players in double-figures with 15 points at Xavier, her 13th straight game with 10-or-more points.
Dayton (7-12, 2-2 A-10) evened its conference record with consecutive victories over Saint Louis (Jan. 14) and Fordham (Jan. 21). The Flyers are led by redshirt senior Jennifer Strong's 13.9 ppg and Nikki Oakland's 11.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) is asking that all fans, coaches and staff "think pink" this weekend by donning pink attire or pink ribbons to show support for coaches and others in the profession battling cancer. The program will run at GW's road games at Dayton and La Salle, as well as all games throughout the country, this weekend.
Comcast SportsNet stopped by the Smith Center on Thursday afternoon to chat with some members of the nationally-ranked George Washington women's basketball team. CSN is planning to air the segment on SportsNite on Thursday at 10:00 pm, as well as on Friday's 6:30 pm show.
