WASHINGTON, DC - Former George Washington University women's basketball player Liz Dancause ('05) has been named Director of Basketball Operations for the Colonials women's basketball program, as announced by head coach Joe McKeown.
Dancause's responsibilities will include team travel logistics, equipment management, film exchange, and game and practice scheduling. She also will assist with recruiting, practice planning and team scouting.
A team tri-captain her senior year, Dancause made 39 starts in 110 games played during her four seasons at GW, averaging 2.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest. She helped the Colonials to postseason appearances in each of her four seasons, including three straight NCAA Tournaments from 2003-2005. GW posted a 91-33 overall record and 57-7 conference mark during her career, highlighted by four Atlantic 10 regular season titles and the 2003 A-10 Tournament Championship. In 2005, Dancause was named a finalist for the Collegiate Basketball Award of Excellence, an award that honors senior student-athletes for athletic and academic achievement and community involvement.
A 2005 graduate of GW with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Dancause worked as a staff assistant and legislative correspondent to United States Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) in Washington, DC, for the past year. She also served a four-month internship with Troutman Sanders law firm, also in Washington, DC.
Dancause replaces Eran Horodniceanu, who served in that capacity for four years.
