Postgame Quotes vs. Lake Truck Lines All-Stars
Head Coach Joe McKeown
Did you intend for Kimberly Beck to score 17 points?
"We didn't get a lot of production from our post game. When we get that, she won't have to score 17 points. She does what she has to do to help us win the game, but it's going to be a difficult season if Kenan [Cole], Sarah-Jo [Lawrence] and Kim have to score all our points."
"I'm hoping someone will evolve into our dominant scorer inside. Jazmine struggled in the second half, and she needs to have a presence down there. That and getting her sister, Jessica, back will open up some things for us."
On Chantelle John's contributions:
"She did a nice job tonight, but she's still developing. Both her and Jazmine need to finish around the basket, and we need to get them the ball in the right spots. They haven't played together much in practice, and tonight was kind of an experiment."
Did you learn anything new about your team?
"I'm hoping that we can get Lisa Steele on the floor because she can play. She just hasn't been able to practice hard over the last two years. She's smart, she's tough. If we can get the three freshmen in there to help too, we can be good."
Jazmine collected three fouls pretty quickly. Do you think foul trouble will be an issue this season?
"I want her to be aggressive. I don't want fouls to be an issue for her. She did a great job staying out of trouble last year for the most part. She was a little tentative in the second half tonight, but she's been unbelievable in practice."
How has Kenan Cole improved her game from last year?
"She's a workaholic. You catch her in here at 10 o'clock at night, and you have to throw her out of the gym. She works on her conditioning, her game. She's a self-made player. I hope she has a big year, because she's earned it."
