WASHINGTON, DC - The Colonials placed three players on the DC College Cup All-Tournament Team, which was announced after the championship match between Georgetown and American on Sunday, Sept. 4. Sophomores Matt Davis and Greg McKay, along with senior keeper Derek Biss were named to the squad after helping GW to a second-place finish in the tournament.
Davis anchored GW's defense, which only allowed one goal in their two matches. He also recorded three shots on the weekend.
Biss played more than 189 minutes in goal during GW's first two games and has 12 saves so far this season. Against Howard, he played the first 79:37 and helped the Colonials to their first shutout of the 2005 campaign. Through two contests, he owns a .923 save percentage.
McKay tallied the Colonials' only goal in their season-opening tie versus American on Sept. 2. He also assisted on the game-winning goal versus Howard and leads GW with three points.
GW returns to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 11. The Colonials will meet Delaware at 1:00 p.m. at Delaware-Mini Stadium.
