GW Golf Invitational Set for April 2-3

WASHINGTON, DC -- The seventh annual George Washington Golf Invitational, hosted by The George Washington University, will be held Saturday-Sunday, April 2-3, at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club in Issue, MD. Swan Point is a par-72, 6,761-yard course.
The event will be contested over 36 holes, with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start and a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. Teams from Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia will compete. Three teams that have participated in recent NCAA tournaments highlight the field. The host Colonials of George Washington will be back to defend their title from 2004. Iona also won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship in 2000, `01 and `03 and participated in the 2000, `01 and `03 NCAA Championships. St. John's competed in the NCAA Regionals in 2001 and `02. Bryant College, an NCAA Division II Powerhouse, has 18 straight D II National Championship bids and nine Top 20 finishes. Defending champion Nam-Kyu Park of Lehigh, who set the course and tournament record last year with a 67, returns to defend his title.
