Cole Named Academic All-District

HAMILTON, NY - Sophomore Kenan Cole was selected to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Second Team on Thursday, Feb. 17. The academic all-district teams are selected by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Cole has started 14 games for GW this season and ranks fourth on the team with a 7.3 points per game scoring average. She is also averaging 3.0 rebounds per contest and is the squad's top free-throw shooter at .875 (21-24). Cole is the first Colonial since Cathy Joens two years ago to be named academic all-district.
Cole has been a member of the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll twice and is majoring in mechanical engineering.
To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 and have at least sophomore standing. Freshmen are not eligible.
The Colonials return home to face A-10 West Division leader at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20 at the Smith Center.
