WASHINGTON, DC - Junior defender Ben Mortimer and sophomore forward Joseph Siegel were both named to the DC College Cup All-Tournament Team. George Washington split its two matches in the event, losing to Georgetown 1-0 on Saturday, September 4, and defeating Howard, 5-0 on Monday, September 6. Mortimer notched his first career goal versus the Bison when he headed in a crossing pass from junior Steve Brown in the second half. Siegel paced GW's offense with nine shots in the two games. He recorded the Colonials' first goal of 2004 in the first half against Howard. GW finished third in the DC College Cup standings behind American, who won the title by virtue of its triumph against Georgetown on September 6, and the Hoyas. Georgetown and GW finished tied for second with three points each, but the Hoyas took second by virtue of their head-to-head win against the Colonials on September 4. The men's soccer team returns to action on Saturday, September 11 with a 7:00 p.m. contest at Radford.
