WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington golfers Brian Carroll (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) and Raman Luthra (East Amherst, NY/Nichols) have been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for men's golf, the league office has announced. It marks the fourth A-10 weekly honor for Carroll who was a three-time Rookie of the Week last season, and the first A-10 honor for Luthra.
Carroll, a sophomore, finished second among 126 golfers at the sixth annual GW Invitational when he carded an even-par 144 (71-73) at the par-72, Swan Point Golf Course in Issue, MD. Carroll recorded nine birdies in the tournament. His effort helped propel the Colonials to the team title in the 24-team field.
Luthra, a freshman, tied for fifth in the tournament with a four-over 148 (72-76). Luthra recorded an eagle and 25 pars during the 36-hole event.
GW's next competition takes place April 3-4 at the 36-hole Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, MD.
