Men's Soccer Announces Four Commitments

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington men's soccer head coach George Lidster announced today the comitments of four recruits for the upcoming 2003 season.
GW adds a talented quartet of freshmen in Jeremiah Burke (Upper Marlboro, MD/DeMatha Catholic), Donnie Giovacchini (Titusville, NJ/Hopewell Valley HS), Adam Jensen (Wilmington, MA/Wilmington HS) and Joseph Siegel (Somerset, NJ/Franklin HS).
Burke a strong, physical left-sided player was a member of the Free State Blazers and Gunston Team America, two highly ranked teams that compete in several national tournaments. Burke played for DeMatha Catholic in high school.
A member of one of the top club teams in the nation, MatchFit, Giovacchini started on the State Cup Champions in both 2001 & 2002. He also served as his 2001 & 2002 ODP State Team captain. Giovacchini played for Hopewell Valley High School where he was named First Team All-State, One of the Top 51 Players in State and a Regional All-American.
Jensen, a graduate of Wilmington High School, was a member of the Massachusetts State Team for two seasons, where he helped the team win the Region One Championship. He earned many accolades for his solid play including selection to the Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) Team, All-Eastern Massachusetts Team and was named a Metro West All-Star.
Siegel attended Franklin High School in Somerset, NJ and is a member of the Bridgewater Nomads, the number one club team in New Jersey, and 2002 State Cup Champion. At Franklin, Siegel earned Second Team All State and First Team All-County honors. Siegel participated on the New Jersey ODP teams in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
The Colonials begin their 2003 campaign with a exhibition match Saturday, August 23, at Georgetown in a 1:00 p.m. match.
