MIDDLETOWN, DE - GW's Thomas Blankvoort (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles) carded a 145 (72-73) to finish in a tie for second, one stroke behind Navy's Nick Rogers (73-71-144) at the Scotty Duncan Memorial Saturday-Sunday, April 27-28, at the par-71, 6,589-yard Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown, DE. Towson's Josh Upton also turned in a 145 (75-70) to tie Blankvoort for second place among 59 golfers. Blankvoort finished the season with a team-leading 73.1 stroke average.
GW sophomore Charles Taylor (St. Lambert, Quebec/Gov. Dummer) and senior Bryan Derdenger (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) finished in a four-way tie for 22nd, each with a 155 followed by Stuart Healey's (East Sussex, England) 156. Senior Tim Derdenger (Scottsdale, AZ/Chaparral) came in 43rd with a 160 (78-82) in the final tournament of the 2002 season.
