Women's Tennis Loses to Davidson, 5-2

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's tennis team lost to Davidson, 5-2, Saturday at GW's Mount Vernon Tennis Facility. The loss dropped GW's record to 3-4 in the spring while Davidson improved to 6-0.
GW managed victories at Nos. 2 and 3 singles on the strength of performances by sophomore Nazli Genscoy (Istanbul, Turkey/Lyree de Galatasaray) at No. 2 and junior Tracy Wei (Marietta, GA/Walton) at No. 3.
For the third straight match, the Colonials were without their No. 4 singles player, freshman Sevla Gonca (Ankara, Turkey/Bilkent) who suffered a knee injury in practice last Tuesday.
Next up for the Colonials is a match against Maryland, Wednesday, Feb. 27, beginning at 2:00 pm at the GW-Mount Vernon Tennis Facility.
