MIAMI (AP) - Chris Monroe scored 23 points and Mike Hall scored a season-high 17, leading George Washington past Florida International 77-63 on Tuesday night.
T.J. Thompson scored 11 points and had seven assists for the Colonials, who shot 55 percent for the game.
Eulis Baez led Florida International (4-1) with 17 points and 10 rebounds, marking his third straight double-double for the Golden Panthers.
The win was the third straight for the Colonials (3-1), who opened a 33-21 halftime lead and held Florida International (4-1) to 31 percent shooting in the opening half.
Monroe, who entered the game shooting just 31 percent for the season, made 7-of-13 shots on Tuesday.
Florida International, which was aiming for its first 5-0 start at the Division I level, shot just 7-of-19 from the foul line. Slavcho Slavtchev scored 12 off the bench for the Golden Panthers.
