Cathy Joens Awarded Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 28) - Junior guard Cathy Joens (Irvine, CA/Calvary Chapel) was picked as an Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on Jan. 27, after she averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 4.5 assists through two conference victories last week.
Joens scored 18 second-half points on her way to a game-high 24, on Jan. 20, to lead the Colonials over visiting Saint Joseph's, 68-62. The victory ended the Hawks' 11-game winning streak. Joens followed that performance up with a 23 point showing at Duquesne, which included a 19-point explosion in the first half. This is Joens' second Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor. She shares this week's award with St. Bonaventure's Christina Cole.
