Men's Soccer Loses to St. Francis, 2-0

LORETTO, PA (September 17, 2001) - The Colonials lost a tough road match as St. Francis (PA) shutout George Washington 2-0 for their second loss of the season.
The Colonials and Red Flash battled to a scoreless tie at the half, when St. Francis struck in the 49th minute off a long pass from Red Flash keeper Joe Alianiello to forward Frank Ianni who put the eight-yard shot past the Colonials' Nick Parypinski.
GW peppered Alianello who made six saves on eleven shots by the Colonials, who were unable to convert any of their opportunities.
St. Francis would add an additional goal off a free kick in the 64th minute to notch their first victory of the season.
The Colonials (2-2-0) next host Radford on Sunday, September 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Vernon Athletic Complex.
