Women's Basketball To Tour Switzerland and Italy

WASHINGTON, DC (August 13, 2001) - The George Washington University Women's Basketball team will depart for Europe on Tuesday, August 14th at 2:00 p.m. from the Smith Center for an 11-day basketball tour of Switzerland and Italy.
The tour, originally scheduled for last May, was postponed to August due to off-season commitments by some of the players. The team will play five international teams that include Swiss, French and Italian select squads.
The team will also enjoy the sights of some of the most beautiful cities in the two countries while they tour the locales of Zurich and Locarno, Switzerland and Venice, Florence, Pisa and Milan, Italy. It will be a valuable educational opportunity for the women to be exposed to the culture and history of Europe.
