GW's Attila Cosby Suspended From Men's Basketball Team
WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington senior center Attila Cosby (Washington, DC/ Oak Hill (VA) Academy) has been suspended from the men's basketball team for "failing to meet his academic obligations," GW head coach Karl Hobbs has announced.
"Attila has been suspended until he successfully completes his academic requirements and shows he can sustain his commitment to his academic career at the George Washington University," Hobbs said.
The 6-9, 208-pound Cosby averaged 8.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots in 23 games last season for the Colonials.
The Colonials finished the 2000-2001 season with an overall record of 14-18. Hobbs was named head coach on May 7 after former coach Tom Penders resigned on April 20.
