Blankvoort Ties for 9th With a 218 to Lead GW
GREENVILLE, NC (April 7) - GW's Thomas Blankvoort shot a two-over-par 218 (69-78-71) to tie for ninth place in the 54-hole Pirate Spring Intercollegiate golf tournament, April 6-7 at the par-72, 6,991-yard Bradford Creek Golf Club in Greenville, NC. The tournament was hosted by East Carolina University.
Blankvoort tied four other individuals for ninth among 114 players. As a team, GW placed 19th in the 22-team field with a team total of 925 (302-326-297). Campbell University won the event with a combined 870, four strokes ahead of Elon College and nine stokes better than host East Carolina. George Mason's Craig Mason won a playoff with St. John's Andrew Svoboda to capture individual honors with a 54-hole total 211.
