Gymnastics Falls At West Virginia

Junior Jessica Mantak (Colonia, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) helped lead the Colonials by winning the all-around with a score of 39.275. Mantak’s performance included a 9.725 on the vault, 9.775 on bars, 9.875 on beam and a 9.90 on the floor exercise.
Sophomore Kacey Coyne (McLean, VA/O’Connell) finished in a tie for third on the vault with a 9.850. Sophomore Christy Gerard (Heath, TX/ Rockwell) also had a nice performance. Gerard finished in a tie for fourth on the beam with a 9.775.
The Colonials return to competition on Wednesday, March 7, at Towson for a third meeting with the Tigers. GW has defeated Towson twice already this season. The Colonials won the Towson Invitational on February 17 with a score of 195.175 and then finished ahead of Towson at the Spartan Invitational on February 24. GW returns home to Smith Center on Saturday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. to face North Carolina and Yale.
