Gymnastics Finishes Second at Spartan Invitational

The Colonials were led by juniors Devin McCalla (Dallas, TX/ J.J. Pearce) and Jessica Mantak (Colonia, NJ/Wardlaw-Hartridge) and sophomore Kacey Coyne (McLean, VA/ O'Connell).
McCalla once again won the all-around competition. The 2000 Atlantic 10 Performer of the Year finished with a score of 39.150 followed by Jenn Baierlein (39.000) and Kristen Presutti (38.975) of Towson. McCalla also finished second on the bars with a 9.875.
Mantak continued her string of solid performances with an all-around score of 38.375, including a tie for first place on the floor exercise with a 9.875.
Coyne continues to establish herself as GW's top performer on the vault. After recovering from the flu earlier this week, Coyne returned to her winning ways by capturing the event with a 9.875.
The Colonials have off until Sunday, March 4, when they travel to Morgantown, WV to compete against West Virginia University at 6:00 p.m.
