Davidson and Oha Receive Atlantic 10 Weekly Awards

WASHINGTON, DC (January 7, 2001) - The Atlantic 10 released their women's basketball awards for the first week of conference play, naming George Washington's sophomore guard Lindsey Davidson (Brea Olinda/Brea, CA) Player of the Week, and freshman center Ugo Oha (Hastings/Houston, TX) Co-Rookie of the Week.
Davidson posted back-to-back double-figure performances, shooting .727 (16-22) from the floor as the Colonials went 2-0 in their first conference games. Davidson averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 assists this week, scoring 15 points on 5-10 shooting in GW's 77-58 win at Duquesne on Wednesday adding five assists on the night. Against No. 20/22 Xavier on Saturday, Davidson scored a career-high 26 points on 11-12 shooting, 4-4 from behind the arc, leading the Colonials past the Musketeers 88-74. Davidson also notched six assists and two steals in one of her best performances at GW.
Oha receives her second Rookie of the Week award after averaging 11 points and 5.5 rebounds in this week's action. Oha shares the honor this week with St. Joseph's Irina Krasnoshiok who she will face on Tuesday at Smith Center. Oha has started in seven of GW's 13 games, including both of the Colonials' conference match-ups. Against Xavier, Oha matched her career-high with 16 points and collected eight rebounds to help the Colonials triumph over the Musketeers. Oha also recorded an assist, block and steal in the game. The block brought her league-leading total to 25 on the season, an average of 1.92 per game.
