Women's Soccer Loses 5-0 to Streaking Syracuse

Washington, DC (September 17, 2000) - George Washingtons women's soccer team
fell to 1-5-0 after running into a strong Syracuse squad who were enjoying a
three-game winning streak going into the match. The Orangewomen upset No. 23
Richmond on Friday, 2-1, in the second overtime period on the first day of the
DoubleTree Classic.
Syracuse tallied all five goals in the first half, while holding GW scoreless. GW was only able to muster three shots on goal to Syracuses 14. The Colonials lost both matches at the DoubleTree Classic including a 4-1 setback to host Rutgers University on Friday.
GW next travels to Old Dominion University to take on the Monarchs Wednesday, September 20.
