9/16/2000 12:00:00 AM | Men's Soccer
Pilkingtons goal at 88:24 tied the match and sent it into overtime where the Hawks and Colonials were unable to score through two extra periods of play. Pilkington scored on a feed from Jeff Greenspan which he redirected off a Monmouth player and into the net.
GW outshot Monmouth 31-16 for the match, and controlled the action for most of the day. Monmouth benefited from the solid play of their goalkeeper, Tim Fauth who had 13 saves for the match.
Nick Parypinski also had a great day in goal for the Colonials with seven saves. The Hawks scored early on Parypinski when forward Anthony Viscariello was able to get free behind GWs defense and scored when Parypinski came out of the net to cut off his angle in the open field. Parypinski shut down the Hawks for the remainder of the match making a series of great saves.
The Colonials (3-1-1) next match is at home against George Mason on Wednesday, September 20.
