Soccer's Friedman Helps Win Under-19 National Championship

WASHINGTON, DC (August 11) - GW junior men's soccer player Gregg
Friedman helped lead his club squad to the Under-19 National
Championship at the Youth National Championships in Orlando, FL, July
30. His team, Football Club Delco Dynamo of West Chester, PA, defeated
Jackson (MS) Football Club, 4-0 for the title. It was the second
championship for Gregg and many of his teammates in the last three
years.
The business major is a native of Holland, PA, and plays central defender for the Colonials.
The GW men's soccer team begins preseason practice August 18th before opening the 2000 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Liberty in the DC Classic Tournament. The match will be played at American University in northwest Washington. GW will then take on either American or Georgetown on the Georgetown campus, Monday, Sept. 3.
