Women's Soccer Signs Four Recruits

D'Hondt plays for the 1999 United States Youth Soccer Association National Club runner-up Michigan Hawks. She won a national championship this past February playing for the 1982 Michigan Olympic Development Program team in the first ever O.D.P. National Championship.
Ragan is a forward for F.C. Delco, EPA State Champions for three years and the 1999 U.S.Y.S.A. Region I Champions. She is also a four year member of the Eastern Pennsylvania O.D.P. Team.
Terranova comes to GW with a national championship in her pocket. Her club team, the Weston Wild Thing, won the 1998 U.S.Y.S.A. National Club Championship in Phoenix, AZ. Terranova is a five year member of the Connecticut O.D.P. program.
Eckert has played for the 1981 Arizona O.D.P. team for the past three years. Eckert earned first team all-state and Northwest region "Player of the Year" honors in the 1999 high school season. Her club team, the Sereno Golden Eagles, are two-year Arizona State Cup runner-up.
"Any time you can add players who have trained at a high level and have played in big games such as national championships, you're going to help your program." said Vogel. "You're dealing with athletes that you hope can step right in and play."
A former player at GW, Vogel enters her first season as head coach of the Colonials. She returned to GW after serving one year as assistant women's soccer coach at Cornell University, preceded by two seasons as an assistant at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
At GW, Vogel was part of the school's most successful season in 1996, when the Colonials (10-7-4) earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. She ranks fifth among all-time scoring leaders with 52 points (21 goals, 10 assists).Vogel was the team captain her junior and senior seasons. The Atlantic 10 named her Player of the Year in 1996, as well as a member of the first team All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors. The NSCAA honored Vogel with a Mid-Atlantic All-Region first team spot in 1996.
