Rutgers Defeats Women's Tennis, 6-3

Freshman Tracy Wei won the No. 1 singles match, 6-4, 6-4, over Donna Krouzman. Wei improved her season record to 14-8 with the victory and improved to 3-3 on the season in No. 1 singles play.
Wei teamed with senior Sarine Weingarten to pick up a victory at No. 1 doubles, 8-5, over Krouzman and Karla Porter. Wei and Weingarten improved to 3-3 on the season playing together at No. 1 doubles.
Weingarten suffered a disappointing loss at No. 3 singles against Carissa Sommerland. After Weingarten claimed the first set, Sommerland came back and won the second and third sets to record a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory. Weingarten fell to 3-4 on the season at No. 3 singles.
Rutgers' Porter cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over senior Ghada Skaff at No. 2 singles, while the Scarlet Knights' Jennifer Hellier defeated Susie Coggin by the same score at No. 4 singles.
Sommerland and Hellier teamed for an 8-4 victory over Skaff and Coggin at No. 2 doubles, while Rutgers' Travbs and Bodner defeated GW's Jodi Horton and Lisa Borromeo 9-7 in the No. 3 doubles match.
GW, 3-6 on the season, retuns to the court on Thursday, April 6 with a 3:00 p.m. match at George Mason.
