Gymnastics Finish Sixth at Regionals

The team scores from Saturday were BYU, 194.700; Towson University, 194.325; University of Maryland, 193.775; North Carolina State University, 193.475; and GW, 191.650.
The Colonials were led by sophomore Devin McCalla (Dallas, TX/JJ Pearce) who completed the all-around with a score of 38.975. The score, unofficially, placed her fifth overall in the region.
Junior Darden Wilee (Chesapeake, VA/Chesapeake) also competed the all-around at the regionals. Wilee finished the meet with a score of 38.150.
The Colonials as a team finished third in the floor exercise with a score of 48.850.
The Colonials, who entered the meet ranked 26th nationally, ended one of their finest seasons in school history. The 2000 Colonials won their third consecutive Atlantic 10 Conference title and set a school record in total team score with a 195.675 mark. Overall the Colonials close the season with a 21-11 record.
