GW's Dubovcova, Lawrence Receive Atlantic 10 Recognition

Dubovcova, a 6-3 forward from Prievidza, Slovakia, tied her career-high with 25 points in the 86-77 victory over Dayton Thursday. Dubovcova shot 66.7% from the field on 10-of-15 shooting and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Dubovcova scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in the 70-68 win over Xavier last Sunday. For the week Dubovcova shot 59% from the field and averaged 18.5 points.
Lawrence, a 6-0 freshman forward from Nyack, NY, posted back-to-back double figures scoring games with 14 points in the win over Xavier and 10 points in the win over Dayton. Lawrence averaged 12 points and 3.5 rebounds per game during the week and shot 52.6 % (10-19) from the field.
Dubovcova is second on the team in scoring (11.4 points per game) and is tied for second with Lawrence in rebounding with 4.3 boards per game. Lawrence is third on the team in scoring with 9.7 points per game.
GW (23-4, 14-2) claimed the sixth regular season championship in the past seven years this season, and is the top overall seed in the Bell Atlantic-Atlantic 10 Tournament this weekend. GW opens play Saturday at noon in the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia against the winner of the Temple vs. La Salle game to be playedon Friday.
