Washington, DC - (October 8, 2000) Sophomore forward Matt Osborne (Bingham Notts, England/Toothill Comprehensive School) lifted the Colonials to their fourth straight conference win, beating the Fordham Rams in Bronx, NY this afternoon. Osborne has now scored in six straight matches dating back to a September 20 game against George Mason University.
The Colonials and Rams battled to a stalemate through regulation and one overtime period when Osborne scored in the 114th minute off quick feeds from freshman forward Justin Evans (Worthington, OH/Thomas Worthington HS) and senior midfielder Jeff Greenspan (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollow Hills). Evans recorded his third assist of the season, after notching his first two collegiate assists last week.
GW goalkeeper Nick Parypinski (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) gave another dominating performance in the net, making seven saves on 10 Fordham shots. Parypinski shut out the opposition for the fifth time this season and has only allowed on score in four Atlantic 10 matches.
The Colonials (7-2-2, 4-0 A-10) return home to face the Rhode Island Rams on Friday, October 13, at South Riding Field in Loudoun County, Virginia.
