George Washington University Athletics
#15 Virginia Cools Off Women's Soccer, 7-0
10/3/2000 12:00:00 AM | Women's Soccer
It took the Cavaliers 18 minutes to solve the GW defense, but once Sarah Lane found the back of the net off of an Erin Engelhardt pass, the goals kept coming. Lane, who made her first career start, added a second goal two minutes later, again taking a pass from Engelhardt and blasting a shot past GW goalkeeper Christine O'Malley.
Kelly Worden added her first two goals of the season and Alyssa Benitez, Tracey Lache and Sasha Wilson tallied one goal apiece as the Cavaliers held GW without a shot for the game.
GW will look to get back on track this Friday, October 6 as it plays its first home game of the year at South Riding Field against Atlantic 10 rival, La Salle at 12:00 p.m.
