WASHINGTON, DC - (October 22, 2000) - Matt Osborne scored a late goal to pull the Colonials within a score, but they were unable catch the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
WASHINGTON, DC - (October 22, 2000) - Matt Osborne scored a late goal to pull the Colonials within a score, but they were unable catch the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.
St. Bonaventure scored in the 13th minute when the Bonnies' Johnny Phoumanny scored on a feed from Geron DuPorte. St. Bonaventure added to their lead in the second half when Anthony Battaglia put home a bobbled ball by Colonials' goalkeeper Nick Parypinski in the 78th minute.
GW pulled within one when Osborne scored on a pass from freshman midfielder Kevin Kummerle. The assist was Kummerle's first point in collegiate play. Osborne's goal now gives him a team-leading 12th score.
GW's record falls to 8-5-2, 5-3 in conference play. The Colonials close the season host Xavier and Dayton next weekend (October 27, 29) in what should prove to be pivotal matches for GW's post-season hopes.
