Women's Basketball Breaks Into Top-25

WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 17, 2000) -- The George Washington University women's basketball team broke into the Associated Press Women's Basketball Top-25 poll today for the first time this season. The Colonials received 103 votes, placing GW No. 24 in the poll.

GW is 13-2 this season, 4-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. With GW's 83-73 victory over Temple yesterday in Smith Center, the Colonials claimed their 11th-consecutive win of the season. GW also increased their home winning streak to 14 games with the victory.

GW was lasted ranked in the AP poll on Dec. 28, 1998, when the Colonials were No. 25.
