Attila Cosby Transfers To GW

Cosby, a 6-9, 225-pound center/forward from Washington, DC, is expected to become e toligible to play for GW in late December, 2000, after transferring from the University of New Mexico. Cosby is sitting out this season after transferring to UNM from the University of Pittsburgh where he was a two-year starter for the Panthers unnnthers under former Pitt coach Ralph Willard. He will have three semesters of eligibility with the Colonials.
In two seasons at Pittsburgh, Cosby started 55 games and averaged 8.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks while shooting 48 percent from the field and 69 percent from the line. Considered one of the top shot-blockers in the Big East Conference, Cosby amassed a total of 96 blocks in his two seasons at Pittsburgh.
Cosby played two seasons at DeMatha Catholic High School. A top shot-blocker in the Big East Conference, Cosby amassed a total of 96 blocks in his two seasons at Pittsburgh.
Cosby played two seasons at DeMatha under coach Morgan Wooten but completed his scholastic career at Oak Hill (VA) Academy under coach Steve Smith.
GW (6-8, 0-1 A-10) plays its second Atlantic 10 game of the season at Virginia Tech (7-7, 1-2) Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Blacksburg, VA.
