STAUNTON, VA (October 25, 1999) - Sophomore Bryan Derdenger carded a 12-over-par 225 (77-75-73) to tie for 20th in the 54-hole James Madison Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Country Club of Staunton (VA). As a team, the Colonials tied Lehigh and Villanova for 15th in the 18-team field with a total 940.
Thomas Blankvoort was the next lowest Colonial 12 strokes behind Derdenger at 237 (82-73-82) placing him 67th among 84 individuals.
Penn State won the team title in a playoff with Richmond after both teams shot 874s, one stroke ahead of host James Madison.
