Xavier's Christie Reinshagen scored with 2:27 into the second half for what would be the game-winning goal. Xavier's Annette Gruber, who tallied her 100th career point at Virginia Tech on Friday, added the team's second goal six minutes later. Megan Hosty finished the scoring for the visitors as she blasted a shot from 18 yards out at the 75:54 mark.
For the match, Xavier outshot GW 18-3, in contest primarily controlled by the Musketeers. Freshman goalkeeper Missey White recorded the shutout, tallying one save along the way. Sophomore Shannon Ashfield (Scarborough, Ontario/Bethune Collegiate) made six saves for the Colonials.
Xavier improved to 10-7-0 overall, 7-2-0 in Atlantic 10 play. The Colonials' record now stands at 2-14-1 overall, 2-6-1 in conference action.
GW next plays Friday at home versus St. Joseph's. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
