A native of Melbourne, Australia, O’Sullivan comes to GW after serving as assistant coach at Cal Poly for the 2017-18 season, helping the Mustangs to the semifinal round of the Big West Conference Tournament.
"I am thrilled to have Gussie joining our program,” said Browning. “She had a standout career playing at Arizona State. Her experience playing at a very high level, along with her experience as an assistant coach at Cal Poly competing against tough opponents in the Big West Conference, is going to continue to help us build the program. She has a true passion for tennis and I can't wait to start working with her."
O’Sullivan graduated from Arizona State in 2017, where she finished with 72 singles wins, including the match-clinching victory against Stanford for only the second time in program history, and helped the team rank as high as No. 16 in the nation.
Along with her experience at Arizona State, O’Sullivan has been an Assistant Pro at Cal Avila Bay Athletic Club, Lloyd Neck Bath Club, and Ultimate Tennis in Melbourne, Australia.
“I’m very excited and honored to be the assistant coach at George Washington University,” said O’Sullivan. “I would like to thank Torrie Browning and Nicole Early for giving me the opportunity to be apart of such a prestigious university. Torrie has already done a fantastic job and I look forward to working alongside her and the student-athletes, taking the program to new heights.”
