Hogue Named A-10 Softball Rookie of the Week

GW softball rookie infielder Sydney Hogue was selected as the Atlantic 10's Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Hogue put up gaudy numbers at the plate this past week as she's heated up in the month of March.Â
Hogue hit .500 (6-12) in four games last week on the way to her first career A-10 weekly award. Hogue's week was highlighted with hits in all four games, including back-to-back games with home runs, and six total RBI. The rookie also drew three walks and was hit by three pitches, leading to a .667 OBP. Hogue combined power with getting on base to the tune of a 1.750 OPS over the last four games.
Hogue's OPS this season is up to 1.024 as she is now one of three Revolutionaries with OPSs higher than 1.000. The Moorpark, Calif., native is also in a three-way tie for second on the team in RBI (13).
Hogue and the Revolutionaries are back at the GW Softball Field on Wednesday, hosting Morgan State with a 3:00 p.m. first pitch.
