Luke Hunger notched his third-straight 20-point effort last Tuesday at VCU with his fifth double-double of the season, scoring a team-high 24 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Hunger has now tallied three double-doubles in the last four games and is averaging a team-best 18.5 ppg and 8.7 rpg on 56.7 % FG (38/67) in 33.2 mpg over his last six contests.
Hunger's 111 points scored in the six games since the injury to Rafael Castro nearly equal his total from the first 21 games of the season (119).
A LOOK AT THE EXPLORERS
La Salle enters play Tuesday off its best defensive effort of the season in a 59-46 over Rhode Island on Saturday, completing a season sweep of the Rams. The Explorers had dropped six in a row prior to Saturday's win and sit in 12th place in the league with a 4-10 record.
La Salle has been wrecked by injuries with leading scorer Jaeden Marshall (12.0 ppg) ruled out for the season after an injury at Duquesne last week and second-leading scorer Jerome Brewer Jr. (11.2 ppg) leaving Saturday's game early with an injury. D.C. native Rob Dockery is the lone remaining double-digit scorer at 10.2 ppg and is one of two Explorers that has appeared in every game so far this season. Dockery had 23 points in the first meeting with GW last month.
