Rodgers Earns Program Record at Dalton Ebanks Invitational

Fairfax, Va. - GW outdoor track kicked off the weekend at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Kicking off in the men's 200m, Blake Johnson earned a 23.37 finish in the finals in GW's first event of the afternoon. In the women's 200m, Madison Hardamon (25.34) and Dami Oyatayo (25.42) both notched a top-20 finish in their first event of the meet.
In the women's 800m, Rylan Priest led the Buff & Blue (2:14.78) to earn a 14th place finish in a field of 82. On the men's side of the 800m, Nic Rodgers earned a 1:51.30 to finish 10th overall and beat his winning time from last weekend to earn a new program record in the event.
Ending the night with the men's and women's 5,000, the women earned two top-five finishes: Hadley Mahoney came in third overall for the women in 17:25.68, while Claire Bohan finished fifth in 17:26.23. On the men's side, Joe Fahrney led the Buff & Blue, earning a fifth-place finish in 14:40.75.
Kicking off day two, the men's 4x800 team of Rodgers, Cole McCue, Andrew McCabe and Tyson Crandall came in second place with a time of 7:51.80. Following up in the men's and women's 400m, Matt Rooney led the GW Revs, finishing in 51.31, while in the women's section, Oyatayo earned a fifth-place finish in 56.57.
Competing in the women's 100m hurdles, Kamryn Holness notched a 15.58, edging out her program record set last season in the event.
Competing in the 100m dash, Yehonatan Haim raced to a 13.15 finish, and for the women, Janae Russell led the Buff & Blue to finish in 12.64 seconds. Finishing the night in the 1,500, Pierce Kapustka led GW in 3:53.11, while Lola Dinneen led the women's squad in 4:43.63.
Over the course of the meet, the Buff & Blue recorded 12 personal-bests. Joe Fahrney, Jimmy Gildea, Rodgers, Cole McCue, Hadley Mahoney, Claire Bohan, Emma Friedrich, Ashley Robinson, Rita Mazumder, Priest, Oyatayo and Janae Russell each recorded their best time in their respective events.
Up next, GW turns its attention to the UVA Grand Prix in Charlottesville, Va. next Saturday, April 12. The full itinerary for the Revolutionaries will be available later next week.
