WASHINGTON - GW softball junior Ashley Corpuz was named the Co-Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday as she led GW to a 4-0 week, which included GW's second all-time sweep of Dayton. Corpuz, who leads the A-10 in numerous hitting stats, has now earned her third A-10 Player of the Week of 2025 and shares this week's title with Fordham's Sydney Wells.
Corpuz was crucial in each of GW's four wins last week, batting .600 (6-10), with six RBI, five runs scored, three home runs, two doubles, four walks, zero strikeouts and two stolen bases. The junior had an on-base percentage of .714 and slugged 1.700 for an eye-popping 2.414 OPS. She had an error-free defensive week, adding seven putouts to her ledger.
Corpuz was particularly important to GW's 5-4 comeback win vs. Dayton on Sunday, when she went 3-3 with two home runs and four RBI. Trailing 4-0, Corpuz cut the lead to 4-3 with a three-run blast in the fifth, before tying the game in the seventh on a solo home run. Corpuz's power is on display this season, as she has moved into a tie for fourth on GW's single-season home runs chart with 13, trailing the record 20 hit by Jenna Cone in 2019.
Corpuz's quality week adds to her incredible season that she's having as the A-10's best batter. The Ladera Ranch, Calif., product leads the A-10 by a longshot in OPS (1.568), nearly 400 points above SLU's Abby Mallo (1.194). She also leads the conference in runs (34), doubles (11), home runs (13), RBI (43), total bases (88), slugging (1.000), walks (27) and on-base percentage (.568). Corpuz is also one of nine players in the A-10 with zero errors on 50+ fielding chances.
The Revolutionaries will look to stay hot with five conference games on the schedule this week, starting with a doubleheader at George Mason on Wednesday (2:00 p.m.).Â
