WASHINGTON - Fresh off a thrilling victory on Thursday evening, GW men's basketball will take on No. 2 seed George Mason on Friday night at 5 p.m. on USA Network.

Since Mason joined the A-10 in 2013-14, GW holds a 14-11 record, which includes a pair of losses in the A-10 Championship in the Second Round in 2019 and 2021.
The Patriots eked out a pair of victories over the Revolutionaries in the regular season, winning by a combined six points. The first matchup of the season was an instant classic with George Mason pulling out an 80-77 double overtime victory on Jan. 18. The second game was a true rock fight with Mason winning, 53-50, on Feb. 5 in D.C.
Mason has won three-straight games in the series dating back to last year, its longest winning streak since taking four in a row from Feb. 10, 2018 - March 14, 2019.

The Patriots were well represented on the postseason award list with A-10 Coach of the Year Tony Skinn, Defensive Player of the Year Jared Billups and First Team All-Conference honoree Jalen Haynes. Haynes averaged 17.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg in the two regular season meetings. Darius Maddox added 13.5 ppg as the team's second leading scorer.
